Paralyzed U.S. Army vet on wheelchair attacked on Halloween by Marine

Paralyzed U.S. Army veteran Daniel Priotti has worn a uniform to celebrate Halloween for years with no problem.

But trouble struck -- at the hands of a Marine veteran in a pink tutu -- early Thursday morning at the Pita Pit restaurant at 1702 W. University Ave.

"I was in line waiting for food, and the next thing I know I'm holding my jaw because it hurt. My jaw and neck are still hurting," Priotti said Thursday afternoon. "I'm totally shocked that somebody would just come up to me and knock me out. The guy is an idiot. It is unbecoming of a Marine."

The guy to whom Priotti referred is Christopher Dabney, who police say took offense at what Priotti was wearing — a uniform while in a wheelchair — and attacked Priotti in the restaurant at about 2:20 a.m.

British police make second arrest in Savile probe

British radio disc jockey, television star and charity fund-raiser Sir Jimmy Savile poses for a photo at Buckingham Palace, London, after receiving the Order of the British Empire in 1972. Since his death a year ago at age 84, Savile has been knocked off his perch as a national treasure, accused of being a predatory pedophile who used his fame and position to abuse youngsters, sometimes on BBC premises.

London (CNN) -- British media have named entertainer Freddie Starr as the second celebrity to be arrested in connection with an investigation into sex abuse claims involving late BBC TV host Jimmy Savile.

Starr, a well-known comedian in the United Kingdom, was arrested on suspicion of sexual offenses Thursday, British media reports say.

In media interviews last week, Starr denied the allegations against him, which were made in a TV report.

Move Over Teddy Ruxpin, This ToyTalk Bear Will Absolutely Blow Your Mind

There’s a company that people have been buzzing about for some time called ToyTalk, which was founded by former Pixar CTO Oren Jacob. He was also previously an EIR at August Capital.

A video was released today showing off what the company is working on and it’s pretty awesome. Basically, it’s a talking teddy bear that uses artificial intelligence and scripted voices utilizing the iPad.

Turn a Necktie into a Smartphone Case and Wallet

You can make a smartphone case out of practically anything these days, but it turns out that a necktie can double as both a case and a wallet.

Clever Etsy store owner TearfulTouch did just that, and it looks like a project you could pretty easily tackle yourself.  The lengthier, skinny part of the tie is simply removed and some excess fabric is folder up to form a pocket.  A button is added to the top of the tie to secure everything and the phone slips right into the end.  If you have even the slightest amount of skill at a sewing machine, you should be able to make one of these cool cases yourself (although they might not look as perfect as TearfulTouch’s work).  If you have a leftover tie and need a case that can double as a wallet, this loks like a fun weekend project to try.
